Been kicking around some ideas with Rogue and Andy, still not sure but leaning towards a ranger of some kind.

A moogle who speaks the words of men, and can summon the earth's power through his dance...

I have absolutely nothing solid at the moment. I'll probably be tempted by some new class and play that.

As for a race..  I have this image in my head  of a guy with a long beard wandering in the blizzard. So maybe some sort of a barbaric human or dwarf. I'm trying to stay away from the orcish awesomeness this time around.

Then again the albino elf race brought this to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aWGuGzJibY&feature=related
But i've never ever ever been good at playing elves or other pretty boys. Ever.

I'm going to go for a retired ranger this time around.  Human, somewhere in his early 50's or so, the kind of guy who still has something left in the tank, but doesn't want to deal with it anymore.

Basically, the guy who goes around muttering "I'm getting too old for this ****".

Gah, that's one of my character concepts Tentaki! Guess I can at least cross that one off the list.

Unless we get together for OAPs R Us Guild.

All I know is that I'm going to play a female character as my first main. And a believable one, a serious one in fact - though not without her colourful quirks which will make people go "hurr durr u can't play female". :P

I'm mostly likely going to draw heavily on something from Icewind Dale / Icewind Dale II games. Someone fur wearing who is not a barbarian.  Kuldahar druid, or the exact opposite perhaps.  ;)

As for her alignment / way of dealing with things, I've decided that she won't be ambiguous - which should provide with hooks for roleplaying.

Either that or a nihilist barbarian barber, as Talonas suggested, I supposedly have the personality for it, even if barbarians as main characters simply don't work. Prove me wrong.

A genius when it comes to alchemy, but unfortunately he has decided to use it for the betterment of himself rather than man/whatever race-kind. A drug dealer who honestly believes he is doing it for the right reasons (supporting family, whatever), and will jump on any opportunity to prove that he is a "Good guy".

I am also strongly considering giving a serious run at a female character. I've never done it before and one of my main goals is to make something as different from Pyotr as possible. Where Pyotr was all about ambition and personal failure, this character is going to be primarily about relationships and will be defined by how she interacts with others. Most of the background details will be based on the setting, but I've already gotten pretty far into personality quirks and a familial history. Think more tragic like Lors rather than appaling like Pytor. I'm a sucker for tragic heroes, even if they aren't heroes. :) I'm excited to learn more about Avera's Hope to see how deep the redeemed criminal and miscreants theme runs... I would be all over that.

She'll definitely have some skillset that makes her a valuable cavebuddy but I don't know just what yet. A decision on class is still a ways off.

Okay I changed my mind.

If you go for that race...you'll be very pleased...Once the info is released. ;D

I've drawn heavy influence from the 2007 portrayal of Beowulf. While many people hate that movie, I actually love it. I found it to be an interesting take and a compelling story. So expect something from me that I've never done before.

I am ripper, tearer , slasher, gouger. I am the teeth in the darkness. The talons in the night. I am the powerful waves of the ocean. The mighty wind in the air that brings the soft breeze in the morning. I am the dew upon the flowers that glisten in the sunlight. The pleasant scent of freshly cut grass. The giver of presents to small children. I give hugs when no one else will give hugs. My mind is kindness, and sweetness and cheer. I'M BEOWULF.  :sad2:

the great halfling hero. all i'm gonna say (definite change of pace from Gabe)

(honestly haven't decided on class. I have an idea, but nothing's set in stone until I see the tasty classes available)

Is it just me or are there a surprising number of people aiming for roguey/skilled-type classes? I think rolling with an all rogue party would be sweet

Until you ran into the all Fighter/Barbarian parties and get ganked. >.>

Honestly, I wouldn't gauge what everyone is going to just yet. There is A LOT more information to come and I'd wager that by the time we actually make our characters, people will have changed their concepts lots and lots simply because of how cool all the culture/concepts the Dev Team have made.

I have not chosen on a class yet but I think I know the path I'll be taking. I was thinking what have I not played and a childhood show came to my mind. Samurai Jack. A lonely samurai (or a ronin to be exact). I'll atleast give it a shot. And oh well, I just had to give it a twist of my own. So here is perhaps the character I'll play in DC5
Characters: Elvin Nerein [17]

Minna Welm [14]
