Good thing with perma-death is that you get to try out different classes. Jaded raises an interesting question though.. Will we be "fair game" for all characters to attack on sight, or are we just more prone to get into conflicts leading to a perma-death situation?

Generally speaking, the Volsk tend to be aggressive and violent. They don't have many friends that aren't Volsk, and they don't care to take to the time to make them, either. They have been showing up in the Depths in increasing numbers in recent years, however, which has lead to several tense moments. So they aren't kill on sight, but they do run a higher risk of permadeath than other characters. This is simply due to their natural inclination to cause trouble, and the rest of the Depths' general willingness, when it comes to Volsk, to do something about it. Also - they live on the surface, and that **** is tough. (And any comparisons with Eloth should know that the population of the Warrens is much higher than the few Volsk that brave it on the surface).
Speaking of perma-death, are we talking Groda-level, practically everyone who's not Volsk is gonna want a piece of them on sight? Or a more Yggie-level, where you're fairly safe as long as you don't go making an nuisance of yourself in public/getting caught doing evil things?
But anyhow rambling about my former sex life aside...

How well known is their little arrangement with Grehta? Because if collaboration with the dragon caused a paranoia-based kobold genocide, I can't imagine any colonist letting a Volsk within sight of their homes.

Elves have it tough in DoN!
