Good thing with perma-death is that you get to try out different classes.  ;D

Jaded raises an interesting question though.. Will we be "fair game" for all characters to attack on sight, or are we just more prone to get into conflicts leading to a perma-death situation?

I imagine the permadeath occurs when a DM  catches you on surface and you fail that survival check in the blizzard. :P

I'm guessing anything remotely sexy will lower your fort saves?

A group of hardy viking worriors living in a barren wasteland of perpetual feezing...
Doesn't appeal to me in the slightest  ;)

I'll take one barbarian fire-starter, please.

Generally speaking, the Volsk tend to be aggressive and violent. They don't have many friends that aren't Volsk, and they don't care to take to the time to make them, either. They have been showing up in the Depths in increasing numbers in recent years, however, which has lead to several tense moments.

So they aren't kill on sight, but they do run a higher risk of permadeath than other characters. This is simply due to their natural inclination to cause trouble, and the rest of the Depths' general willingness, when it comes to Volsk, to do something about it.

Also - they live on the surface, and that **** is tough. (And any comparisons with Eloth should know that the population of the Warrens is much higher than the few Volsk that brave it on the surface).

The extra risk just adds to the appeal of this subrace... Especially since I'm now looking for a character that can be more than just a comic relief.

Speaking of perma-death, are we talking Groda-level, practically everyone who's not Volsk is gonna want a piece of them on sight?  Or a more Yggie-level, where you're fairly safe as long as you don't go making an nuisance of yourself in public/getting caught doing evil things?

Haha I'm glad to see you're so excited by all this as I am, Greid.

Yggie level, people are also welcome to visit Volsk without necessarily getting in trouble, unless of course if they're elves.

How well known is their little arrangement with Grehta? Because if collaboration with the dragon caused a paranoia-based kobold genocide, I can't imagine any colonist letting a Volsk within sight of their homes.

Thavornir is the essence of me! I'll be playing a Thavonir elf with absolute certainty. :)

I thought you were playing a commoner?

No. I was suggeting that many others do. :P Don't live like I live, live like I preach sort of thing? ;D It's Argumentum Ad Hominem if you don't allow a smoker to preach against smoking.

I'm definitely playing a Thavonir druid. :) Especially since there should be less trees to hug and more Valiant to lick. Wat.

Wasn't Avera's a bit more anti-elf too, what with their former slavers being elven? Elves have it tough in DoN!

Only known to the Volsk themselves. They're smart enough not to brag about it.

And they are even more anti-slaver than just anti-elf, so even before try find out about the deals with Grehta, Averans at least have all the reason in the world to despise the Volsk. :)
