First, a quick point:-
- During times of general use, you may find the DMs using the DM channel. We're not being mean, rude or ignorant, we're just discussing story matters that will only ruin the immersion.

1. This is a self-moderated channel in the sense that we trust the user to determine what is inappropriate for the audience at the time. Common sense applies, and please no fooling around with obviously taboo subjects.
2. When there's hardcore roleplay going on, the channel usually goes a little quiet. Please respect this and keep the chatter down. If you notice that your enane babble is echoing back at you, you're probably being ignored.
3. Everyone is welcome.
4. We welcome old friends who don't necessarily play DC any more, but please don't spam us with your Counterstrike / Guildwars crap. If you need to discuss how you're pwning another game, set up your own channel please.
5. Needlessly negative comments about DC will earn you a swift kick.
6. As will constant bitching...
7. Have fun.
8. Respect others on the channel.
9. If you're utterly blind 'druuank' and you're told to sod off and sober up, please do so.
10. If any user is concerned about any element of their experience of DC's Ventrilo Channel, please bring the matter up with a member of the staff.
Some funky sounds tweaks! From the old forums a few useful tips have been scavenged. All of them courtesy of Slyd. You can find these below:
How do you manage sound? Here is a method on setting Ventrilo up so that everyone comes at the same volume. If someone comes in too loud, it's turns them down. Someone comes in too soft, turns them up.
Here's how:
- Go to Setup
- Enable Direct Sound
- Select the SFX Button
- Select Compressor and click Add.
- Under Compressor Properties use the following settings
- Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15)
- Attack = 0.01
- Release = Around 500
- Threshold = Around -30
- Ratio = 100
- Pre delay = 4.0
Depending on your computer, the settings mentioned might vary a little, take some time to tinker around.
